The First Meeting of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors under India’s G20 Presidency was held in Hyderabad on 28 January 2023. The participants agreed to continue to support the global economic recovery, address the pandemic, accelerate the transition to a green and sustainable economy, and promote digital transformation to benefit all countries. The meeting was a positive step in the G20’s efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable growth. The G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) held its first meeting in Kolkata on 8-9 February 2023. It discussed the progress made on the GPFI’s work plan and identified key areas for future collaboration. The GPFI’s work plan focuses on four areas: promoting financial inclusion, improving the quality and reach of financial services, reducing the cost of financial services, and strengthening the financial sector’s resilience to shocks. The meeting was a success and helped to further the G20’s work on financial inclusion.
