Deendayal Research Institute (DRI)

The Deendayal Research Institute (DRI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1972 by Nanaji Deshmukh to validate the philosophy of integral humanism propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya (1916–1968). It is headquartered in New Delhi, India, and has branches in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. DRI’s mission is to “evolve a social system for the transformation of our age-old Indian society suited to the modern scientific era and based on the eternal values of integral humanism.”

The Institute’s work is divided into three main areas: research and development, training and capacity building, and advocacy and outreach. The Institute has received numerous awards and recognition for its work, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership (1999) and the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Vriksha Award (2004).
